Dr. Ana-Mercedes Flores is a clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in providing neuropsychological assessments and interventions for clients ranging in age from toddlers to young adults. Dr. Flores has experience working in medical settings alongside multi-disciplinary teams that share the goal of optimizing developmental outcomes. She has worked with various neurodevelopmental and medical populations with a focus on ways the brain may impact cognitive, social-emotional, academic, behavioral, and adaptive functioning. These populations have been affected by epilepsy, oncology, genetic disorders, concussion and traumatic brain injury, ADHD, language disorders, autism, intellectual disabilities, and learning difficulties. Additionally, Dr. Flores is a bilingual/bicultural neuropsychologist and can provide services in English and Spanish.

Dr. Flores earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, San Diego. She completed her master’s degree in psychology from California State University San Marcos and earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Eastern Michigan University. She worked in the Developmental Brain and Behavior Lab conducting research on brain-behavior relationships in child development and completed a predoctoral clinical externship at the University of Michigan. She then went on to complete her predoctoral internship at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas and her postdoctoral pediatric neuropsychology fellowship at Sutter Medical Foundation in Sacramento, California.  

Dr. Flores’s clinical approach includes a comprehensive evaluation of a client’s strengths and difficulties within the context of unique developmental trajectories, social and cultural factors, and interactions with environments such as home, school, and the community. Her goal is to work as a member of a client’s team to help provide knowledge, resources, and empowerment to create goals and implement effective interventions.

In addition to her work at Mind Blossom Center, Dr. Flores is a pediatric neuropsychologist at Children’s Hospital Orange County (CHOC). Dr. Flores is working with Mind Blossom Center as an independent contractor and under no affiliation with CHOC.
