Leanne Mendoza, PsyD


Leanne Mendoza (Dr. Mendoza) is a pediatric neuropsychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of brain-based conditions in infants, toddlers, adolescents, and young adults. Additionally, Dr. Mendoza leverages her training and experience in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to help strengthen relationships between young children and their parents while helping parents learn tools to best manage their children’s behavior.

Dr. Mendoza earned her bachelor’s degree in psychobiology from UCLA, her master’s degree in psychology and her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University. She completed predoctoral externships at Kaiser Permanente, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), and Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. She completed a doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Finally, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at the Children’s Medical Center Dallas.

Dr. Mendoza provides executive skills coaching to aid in planning, organizing, time management, and focusing. She teaches students to implement techniques and strategies that help manage everyday responsibilities and optimize their learning and academic achievement.

By identifying her clients’ unique strengths and vulnerabilities within the context of sociocultural backgrounds, Dr. Mendoza conducts a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s developmental, cognitive, academic, emotional, and social functioning to inform educational and treatment planning. Her goal is to help children, their families and their support network better understand how the child’s brain works and improve their everyday functioning.

Along with her work at MBC, Dr. Mendoza is a pediatric neuropsychologist at CHLA. Additionally, she is an assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Mendoza is working with MBC as an independent contractor and under no affiliation with USC or CHLA.
